This past weekend Sp8boards was at the Leeds International Tattoo Expo. This is a great event which draws tattoo and piercing artists and enthusiasts from all over the world. I was asked to help out on the Longboarding For Little Hearts stall. This group is a charity which raises money in aid of the Childrens Heart Federation. One of its main fundraising activities is long distance longboarding and both Johnny Phillips and Mike Laidler took on the challenge of longboarding from the expo site in Leeds city centre to their home town of Keighley and back, a total of 46 miles (and a lot of hills)!
Sadly, I wasn't able to participate in the challenge due a foot injury, but I was pleased to be able to donate a longboard for auction at the Expo. With graphics drawn by Lukasz, a tattoo artist at Stolen Days tattooists and trucks and wheels donated by Smile Longboards, the completed longboard was quite unique. I think Emilie ( @emilieveritytaxidermy ) was really happy at winning such a great prize!
